Description:
------------
Since yesterday (?) the online documentation does not work
with Netscape 4.x. The left-hand menu is missing, and on some
pages a gray box covers most of left half of the window.

Examples of broken pages:
http://www.php.net/manual/en/
http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.array.php
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.array-diff.php

It hits me as a suprise that anybody is using netscape 4 to browse PHP.net... Are your machine too weak to upgrade to anything less then 6 years old [Konqueror, Mozilla, Netscape 6/7]?

Mozilla is EXTREMELY slow on my machine at home for
unknown reasons. I'm running SuSE 8.1 on a 366MHz Celeron
with 192MB RAM, and I've several versions of Mozilla,
including the one shipped with SusE. It's quite weird,
since I have a laptop with slower CPU / less RAM and
on it Mozilla has worked fine with SuSE 8.0/8.2. And
when I say EXTREMELY I mean that it takes seconds before
a simple mouse click registers. :-P

And anyhow, Netscape 4 is a lot more responsive on any
machine I've used, it only takes a few seconds to load,
and it chokes on malformatted tables etc. (which really
helps if you're a web developer and concerned with
compatibility).

BTW, do you have any stats on the browsers people use
to browse your site? It wouldn't surprise me if the
download section has a fair number of requests from
lynx, and compared to that even Netscape 3 seems
high-tech. ;-)

I have not seen stats for a long time now, our automatic stat generation is out of order for some time now. BTW we introduced our clean download URLs especially for lynx and wget users, so we are aware of their presence. Also our latest changes look better in links/lynx, and they take up less HTML space.

I would suggest you try Firebird, I use it frequently, and it has many addons specificaly to help web development. I would recommend you the PNH toolbar, which will no doubt convince you to use this browser ;) http://placenamehere.com/pnhtoolbar/
